Notre Dame Academy 66 Lou Ballard 56

In a game that found NDA without Katie Tierney (out sick) Casey Jackson who did play, but feeling and looking sick, and as white as a ghost, 6th man sub Molly Johnson took up the slack. Johnson played "D" got some important rebounds and even scored 11 points to help lead NDA to a 10 point victory against Louisville Ballard.

First quarter score found NDA trailing Ballard, by a score of 18-12 as NDA looked like a team who had to get up at 7am for the hour and a half drive to Louisville for a 10am game. They just look like they hadn't woken up yet.

The second quarter found NDA waking up as they took the lead by a score of 32-29 but still NDA couldn't hit a outside shot. Dickman, and Drees played catch with each other as they just killed Ballard with their inside outside call as the outside shooting still didn't click.

Third quarter found NDA finally hitting some outside shots and NDA starting to play some tough "D" to hold Ballard to only 9 points in the third quarter while scoring 15 to open their lead to 47-38.

Fourth quarter found NDA pulling away and at one point lead by 17, but then Ballard made a little run to finally end the game with NDA winning the game by a 66-56 margin.

Dickman was the MVP of the game (second year in a row for Nicole to win the honor) as she had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Emily Drees also had 18 points and played a very strong game..

BTW it was nice to hear NDA introduced as the number 3 rated team in the Commonwealth today at the Kentucky Preps Plus Classic....

I will post more info about other games later Sunday..... BTW the rims at Trinity have to be the tightest I have seen in a while. All sixteen teams seemed to be having trouble hitting the outside shot as either the shots rimed out, or just wouldn't go in all night from behind the arch..........

Very Deserving of the #3 state ranking.

Very Deserving of the #3 state ranking.

Rankings are for the birds! They mean absolutely nothing come tournament time. All the rankings do is give fans something to complain about all yr on why isn't this team and why is this team ranked or not ranked here or there. We beat them so why are they ranked above us, etc.

Number 3 ranking is pretty strong. Now maybe Boone can sneak in under the radar the rest of the way and ND can carry the load. Like 3point said rankings mean nothing if you don't back it up with good basketball, and eventually getting Diddle.

I agree that Rankings/Ratings are not very meaningfull but if you put either word in the title of a thread that thread will get more hits than any other.

Everyone knows NDA and Boone are neck and neck with several other 9th region teams playing very well so let's just sit back and enjoy the competition. And from what I saw at the Ky Preps Plus Classic games on Saturday whomever gets to the State will have their hands full.

A Boone guy posting NDA's rank is meaningless seems a bit petty to me. TheOldGuy might just be getting under your skin.

Good luck to all the 9th region teams. Play well and stay healthy the rest of the way.

WLTG...In case you missed it an NDA guy posted the ranking in the first post.

Congratulation’s to NDA’s success and I think their #3 ranking is well deserved. Also, congrat's on another solid win.

We all know it is really tough to give credibilty to rankings when some do not even have accurate wins/losses. We all tend to like the polls that give our teams the highest ranking and tell all others “they have no clue what they are talking about”. No one is right or wrong and they all mean squat. If you have seen certain teams play you have a much better gage of where they are as opposed to following polls.

Unlike football, thank goodness the slate is wiped clean for district’s.

I was in no way being petty. Just repeating what Old Guy wrote in his post. I usually agree with most of Old Guys postings so he was not under my skin. I was being genuine when I wrote their #3 ranknig was pretty strong. I am just hoping the outcome this year is the same as last. ND ranked well up there in the state and we sneak in and take the Region.

Cooty, I totally understood your post and in fact said the same thing earlier in the year until things got reversed. It was only a small one liner in a large post that 3pt jumped on so I thought I should call him on it.

Good luck with NCC tonight and hopefully #25 will light it up once again.
