First and foremost, our condolences to the family, friends and Scott County community on the passing of KY High School Legend and all time winningest basketball coach in KY history, Billy Hicks. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. 
 

 

1) Breathitt County (1-0): The Bobcats picked up a big win over 15th regions, Martin County 84-79 in Hazard’s DJ Begley Classic. 
 

Tues. 12/5 vs. Lee County

 

2) Perry County Central (1-0): Perry County Central also picked up a big win this past week when they defeated, another 15th regions, Magoffin County 78-73. 
 

Tues. 12/5 vs. Harlan (WYMT Classic)

 

3) Knott County Central (4-0): The Patriots started off the season winning their first 4 games, defeating; Barbourville 63-21, Pikeville 60-53, Pike County Central 46-43, Lee County 76-47. 
 

Mon. 12/4 vs. Martin County (WYMT Classic). 
 

4) Hazard (3-0): The Bulldogs picked up 3 straight wins to begin the season, defeating; Cordia 74-18, Owsley County 78-50 and Jackson City 70-23. 

Mon  12/4 vs  Buckhorn, Thurs. 12/7 vs  Leslie County, Sat. 12/9 vs Paris.

 

5) Letcher County Central (2-0): The Cougars picked up wins over Prestonsburg 79-72 and Buckhorn 66-56.

Mon. 12/4 vs Harlan County (WYMT Classic) Thurs 12/7 vs Magoffin County and Sat 12/9 vs Central (Wise) VA.

 

6) Estill County (1-0): Engineers cruised past Bath County with ease, winning 67-49. At one point, Estill County held a 30 point lead.

Tues. 12/5 at Morgan County, Thurs. 12/7 vs Madison Central, Sat 12/9 at Owsley County.

 

7) Wolfe County (2-1): Wolves start the season 2-1 with wins over Buckhorn 94-85 and Menifee County 77-60. They would fall to Magoffin County 80-74. 
 

Wed 12/6 at Betsy Layne and Fri 12/8 vs Jackson City.

 

8 ) Leslie County (0-1): The Eagles would fall to Jackson County 78-61 in the Mountaineer Tip-Off Classic at OBI  

Thurs 12/7 at Hazard, Fri 12/8 at Cordia.

 

9) Powell County (0-3): Pirates start the season off on a rough start. Dropping they’re first three games, Morgan County 67-62, Williamstown 70-69 and Augusta 74-49.

Tues 12/5 vs Montgomery County, Fri 12/8 at Model.

10) Buckhorn (0-3): The Wildcats are another team that’s still searching for that first win. They’ve fell in they’re first three games to begin the season; Wolfe County 94-85, Letcher County Central 66-55, Prestonsburg 70-54.

Mon 12/4 at Hazard, Tues 12/5 at Barbourville and Thurs 12/7 at Jackson City.

11) Lee County (1-2): Bobcats defeated Red Bird 84-55 in the Mountaineer Tip-Off Classic at OBI but they would drop they’re next two games falling to Knott County Central 76-47 and Jackson County 96-59.

 

12) Jenkins (1-1): The Cavaliers would drop they’re season opener to Phelps 71-61 but would bounce back and defeat Bland Rocky Gap VA 73-72 in a thriller.

13) Owsley County (0-2): Owls get drilled in both games to begin the season, Knox Central 64-47 and Hazard 78-50.

14) Jackson City (0-2): Tigers are also still searching for win #1. They fell to both Betsy Layne 64-52 and Hazard 70-23.

 

15) Cordia (0-2): The Lions fell pretty hard to begin the season, falling to both Hazard and Bell County by very big margins
