Brandon Silvers (Troy) looked rusty throwing two picks, and two touchdowns going 24-42 for 272 yards leading the Roughnecks (1-0) to the easy win over the Orlando Guardians (0-1) by the score of 33-12. Max Borghi ( Washington State) ran eight times to lead the rushing attack getting 42 yards and 1 touchdown. Cole McDonald (Hawaii), the backup quarterback rushed five times good for 14 yards and 1 touchdown. Jontre Kirklin (LSU) had five catches good for a touchdown and 71 yards. (Maryland), Tavante Beckett (Marshall), and Ajene Harris (USC) all had a pick for the winners. For Orlando, Paxton Lynch (Memphis) and Quinten Dormady (Central Michigan) combined to throw three picks, 278 yards, and two touchdowns. Jah-Maine Martin (North Carolina A&T) only got nine rushing attempts totaling forty-one yards. He ran hard each time he had the ball. Andrew Jamiel (Stonehill) had a touchdown catch as did Cody Latimer

(Indiana). Latimer had five total catches good for 68 yards. Matt Elam (Florida) and Marcus Murphy (Mississippi State) had one pick each. Hunter Duplessis (UT San Antonio) had the three field goals for Houston two from 33 yards out and the other from 22 yards.
