13th Region Week 11 Review:

1. North Laurel (18-10): Jaguars went 2-0 on the week with big time wins over 12th region favorite Lincoln Co and Covington Catholic. Both were in convincing fashion with wins by 20 and 15 each. The Jaguars look like they’re getting hot and healthy at the right time. They finish up the regular season with games against Knox Central and at Corbin.

2. Harlan County (23-5): The Black Bears went 3-0 on the week with an 8 point win over Harlan, a 26 point win over Middlesboro, and an 8 point win at Boyd County. Harlan Co is starting to solidify themselves as the second best team in the region and are playing great basketball. They finish up with Whitley at home and Barbourville on the road.

 3. South Laurel (20-7): The Cardinals had a great week as well with a 35 point win over Lynn Camp, a 9 point win over Boyle County, and a 18 point win over Harlan. The Cardinals have been playing great ball since their lost to whitley. Jeff Davis’s squad will always guard you and get after you and that shows from their win over Harlan. They have two big games to wrap things up with Madison Central on the road and Lexington Christian at home.

4. Corbin (18-5): Corbin is also playing great basketball right now riding a big win streak. The Hounds squeaked on out without Llewellyn against Barbourville winning by 2 then had a 29 point win over Jackson County. They finish up with Bell County, Lynn Camp, and North Laurel this week.

 5. Harlan (17-7): Have the Green Dragons peaked too early? After starting off as one of the regions hottest teams, they are now 4-4 in their last 8. They took losses this week to Harlan County and a huge loss to South Laurel with wins over Knott County Central and Knox Central. KHSAA is showing that they have no more games before district play.

 6. Whitley County (19-8): Whitley keeps winning as well after going 3-0 on the week. This included wins over Williamsburg, Campbell County, and Russell County. The colonels can show they’re a big threat with a win over Harlan County this week. They also close out the season with Apostolic Christian, and Cordia.

7. Barbourville (15-9): The Tigers went 2-1 on the week and was two points from going 3-0 with a big time upset over Corbin. They had a really nice win over McCreary Central and a win over Clay County. The Tigers finish up with Berea, Harlan County, and Lynn Camp.

8. Pineville (16-8): Pineville had a nice week going 3-0. They had wins over OBI, Middlesboro, and a 5 point win over Williamsburg. The Mountain Lions have put together a really nice season. They wrap up with Red Bird and Jackson County before playing Knox Central first round of district.

9. Bell County (13-14): Bell went 2-0 on the week with wins over Clay County and Eagleton Career Academy. They wrap up the year with Corbin, Jackson County, and Apostolic Christian. The tigers need to win these and go on a roll since they’ll be playing Harlan first round.

10. Clay County (12-14): Clay went 1-2 on the week with a losses against Barbourville and Covington Catholic, but a win over Lynn Camp. The tigers will look to finish this season over .500 as they have Middlesboro, Knox Central, Morgan County, and then they will play Jackson Co the first round of districts.

Best of the rest:

11. Jackson County (16-11)

12. Williamsburg (13-14)

13. Lynn Camp (5-21)

14. Knox Central (4-23)

15. Middlesboro (8-20)

16. OBI  (9-18)

17. Red Bird (5-15)
