14th Region Week 11 Review

1) Hazard (23-3):

Wins: Perry County Central 65-53, Estill County 63-43, Powell County 63-42

Hazard continues they're dominance through the 14th region as they added three more impressive wins to they're resume, defeating Perry County Central 65-53, Estill County 63-43 and Powell County 63-42. Hazard remains perfect in the 14th region this year, sitting at 16-0.

2) Perry County Central (14-13):

Wins: Knott County Central 60-57

Losses: Hazard 65-53, Boyd County 71-70 (OT)

The Commodores seen they're 6 game win streak come to an end last week when they were dealt two straight losses, falling to crosstown arch rival, Hazard 65-53 and dropping a heart breaker in OT to Boyd County 71-70. The Commodores had to fight in the win against Knott County Central after being down double digits in the 3rd quarter.

3) Breathitt County (14-9):

Wins: Ligon COGO Home School 93-59, Highlands 71-60.

Breathitt County added two more wins to they're total last week, defeating both Ligo COGO Home school and Fort Thomas Highlands. Bobcats have won 6 of they're last 8 games.

4) Letcher County Central (20-9):

Wins: Buckhorn 93-56

 Letcher County Central finally picked up a win after dropping three straight. The Cougars rolled past the Buckhorn Wildcats 93-56.

5) Estill County (17-10):

Wins: Nicholas County 52-48, Floyd Central 77-59.

Losses: Hazard 63-43.

The Engineers won two out of three games, Estill went on the road last Tuesday and picked up a 52-48 win over Nicholas County. Estill County would hit the road on Friday traveling to Hazard, looking to dethrone the Bulldogs, what was a good first half with Hazard leading 23-20 at halftime, was a bad second half for Estill as the Bulldogs outscored the Engineers 40-23 in the second half. Estill returned home Saturday to host one of the hottest teams in the 15th region, Floyd Central who came into the game 17-7 and had a big win over Martin County who had a big win against the same Hazard team that beat Estill. Estill jumped out to a double digit lead in the first half but Floyd Central battled back. Estill took a 15-13 lead into the second quarter, Engineers lead 33-30 at halftime. Second half was all Engineers as they would roll on to they're 17th win on the season with a 77-59 win over the Floyd Central Jaguars.

6) Knott County Central (10-16):

Wins: Wolfe County 85-54

Losses: Harlan 70-59, Perry County Central 60-57

Knott County Central dropped two out they're three games this past week, dropping Harlan 70-59 and Perry County Central 6-57 in a heart breaker. Patriots, was able to pick up a big road win at Wolfe County, defeating the Wolves 85-54.

7) Lee County (13-14):

Wins: Leslie County 70-62, Ligon COGO Home School 84-51

Bobcats picked up two big wins this past week, getting revenge from a few days earlier loss by defeating Leslie County 70-62 and Ligon COGO Home School 84-51. Bobcats have won three of they're last 5 games.

8 ) Wolfe County (14-13):

Losses: Montgomery County 89-82 (OT), Knott County Central 85-54

The Wolves are struggling bad heading into the last week of the regular season. Wolfe County fell to Montgomery County 89-82 in overtime and fell to 14th region foe, Knott County Central 85-54. Wolves have dropped 5 of they're last 6 games.

9) Leslie County (14-13):

Wins: Berea 48-42

Losses: Jackson County 71-60, Lee County 70-62

Leslie County dropped two out of three games last week, falling to both Jackson County 71-60 and dropping to Lee County 70-62, a team they had defeated just a few days prior. The Eagles did pick up a win against Berea 48-42.

10) Powell County (12-16):

Wins: Jackson City 70-50, Menifee County 69-62

Losses: Jackson County 76-70, Hazard 63-42

The Pirates split four games this past week, falling to Jackson County 76-70 then defeating both Jackson City 70-50, Menifee County 69-62 before falling to Hazard 63-42 to end the week.

Thursday: Leslie County at Jackson City, Wolfe County at Lee County, Powell County at Model, Cordia at Whitley County.

Friday: Oneida Baptist Institute at Buckhorn, Cordia at Owsley County, Estill County at Perry County Central.

Saturday: Seneca at Breathitt County, Knott County Central at Phelps.
