Ballard took care of business this past week with wins over Fern Creek and Saint Xavier. Gabe Sisk continues to make the case for 7th Region player of the year as he racked up 32 points and 11 rebounds against Fern Creek and had another big game against St. X although stat report hasn't been posted yet for that game. Trinity had a close loss to a very good Lexington Catholic team. Male had a great week with a win over Eastern and state power Covington Catholic in double overtime. Jason Gasaway had a big game against Covington Catholic and was Male's leading scorer with 30 points and had 8 rebounds. Saint Xavier beat Christian Academy-Louisville and lost on the road to Ballard. Manual beat Portland Christian 66-57 and Elizabethtown and returned their best player Damone King from injury. The region tournament contenders look to be the top 5 teams with one of the top 3 to likely move on to the Sweet 16. The game of the week will be Male vs. Manual on 2/10 at Male and should be a packed house.
