13th Region Week 10 Rankings and Review

13th Region Week 10 Review:

1. North Laurel (16-10): Jaguars went 2-1 on the week with blowouts over OBI and Jackson and dropping one to Madison Central yesterday day 58-74. Things don’t get any easier as they take on Lincoln County and Covington Catholic this week with both games coming at home.

2. Corbin (16-5): The Redhounds are rolling as they are now winners of 9 of their last 10 and 6 straight after wins over Clay County and Knox Central this week. Corbin will be on the road this week with games against Barbourville and Jackson County.

 3. Harlan County (20-5): The Black Bears were red hot before they lost yesterday to Newport 58-73. HC had huge wins this week over district and town rival Harlan by 6, and then over Pulaski County by 5. The Black Bears will host Harlan and Middlesboro this week before traveling to Boyd County Saturday.

4. Harlan (21-4): Now losers of 2 of their last 4 after dropping a huge one to Harlan County this week, a lot are asking did Harlan peak too early? They rebounded by putting up 110 in a win over Clay County, but they truly need to revenge this weeks loss against Harlan County as they go on the road to play them again Tuesday. Harlan will also play Knott County Central, Knox Central, and South Laurel to round out the week. They have no more games after this on their schedule.

 5. South Laurel (17-7): The Cardinals responded in a major way after their one point loss on the road at Whitley, with a 37 point drubbing at home. SL followed that up with an 11 point win over Breathitt County. This week will see South at Lynn Camp, host Boyle County, then host Harlan on Saturday.

 6. Whitley County (16-8): Whitley had a huge let down after a win over South by losing to them by 37. They did pick up a win over Jackson County in the game before and a forfeit win over Wellspring Guardians out of Richmond. This week will see their final district game against Williamsburg, an away game against Campbell County TN, and a home game with Russell County.

7. Barbourville (13-8): The Tigers went 2-0 on the week with wins over Somerset Christian School and Betsy Lane. Now they shift their attention to a busy week with games against McCreary Central, Clay County, Corbin, and Ligon COGO. They will be at home for every game this week.

8. Clay County (11-11): Clay took a forfeit win over Red Bird before getting killed by Harlan 78-110. Clay has a busy week with road games against Bell County and Barbourville, then home games with Lynn Camp and Covington Catholic. Clay needs to win 3/4 of these games to prove themselves as a middle of the pack team in the 13th.

9. Pineville (13-8): The Mountain Lions went 1-1 on the week with a win over Ligon COGO and a big loss to Harlan County. Pineville has a busy week as they host OBI, go on the road to Middlesboro, host Williamsburg, and then host Somerset.

10. Bell County (11-14): Bell seems like they’re getting close to playoff form ready to try to pull off an upset over one of the Harlans. They lost early in the week to Harlan by 3, but then rebounded with wins over White Academy, Middlesboro, and Williamsburg. They have a slower week this week as they host Clay County and Eagleton College & Career Academy out of Maryville TN.

Best of the rest:

11. Jackson County (14-10)

12. Williamsburg (12-11)

13. Lynn Camp (5-18)

14. Knox Central (3-21)

15. Middlesboro (6-18)

16. OBI  (8-15)

17. Red Bird (4-15)
