  URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
   Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 15
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   200 AM CST Thu Jan 12 2023

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
     Extreme southern Illinois
     Western Kentucky

   * Effective this Thursday morning from 200 AM until 500 AM CST.

   * Primary threats include...
     Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
     Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible
     A tornado or two possible

   SUMMARY...Clusters of storms, with embedded supercell and bowing
   structures, will spread east-northeastward across western Kentucky
   and extreme southern Illinois through the early morning hours. 
   Damaging winds of 60-70 mph will be the main threat, though isolated
   large hail near 1 inch diameter and a brief tornado or two may also
   occur.

   The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 30
   statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles west southwest
   of Paducah KY to 25 miles south of Owensboro KY. For a complete

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
   favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
   Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
   weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
   warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
   tornadoes.
