BluegrassPreps.com 2nd Region Week 3 Review

Editor's note: Folks, I am not an expert on the Second Region. All I knew about the region before taking this assignment was prolific junior guard Travis Perry and his team, the Lyon County Lyons. What I do know is that Lyon County doesn't receive nearly enough media attention as it deserves in a region that already receives very little media attention, compared to other regions around the state. I'm terrible at guessing but I'm pretty good at researching so I have tried to make up for my lack of knowledge here by immersing myself in the region all week, without actually going there! I compared this season's results. I looked at last season's results. I read the Cat's Pause preview. I Googled the heck out of the region yesterday. Even so, I'm promising a mistake or two, just because, so be advised. But I have tried to be as accurate and fair as possible to these teams and this overlooked region. And just in case this is a rough crowd, I admit that I have tried to overwhelm you with information to make up for any potential errors. Feel free to correct me where I'm wrong. Please advise me on the rankings, if necessary. And by all means please remember that I am a Second Region novice merely wanting to give the region some love. Have at it...

Defending regional champion Lyon County remains on top of the rankings. Immediately behind the Lyons, it looks like we have some early-developing parity. Teams are starting to beat up on each other, rendering the transitive property practically useless when comparing results (please see the Henderson County, Madisonville North Hopkins and University Heights cluster as an example.) How do I solve this? Call me crazy, but I'm ranking those three teams in a second-place tie. I am actively soliciting alternative solutions to this conundrum. I'm feeling a little more comfortable about the rankings beginning at No. 5, but not by much. Again, please advise me.

Also, I'm introducing a new feature to the Second Region Week In Review. Here it is:
