Highlands 3 Newport Central Catholic 1 (36th District Championship)

The Birds handle their business at home in the 36th District Championship game, and claim another district title.  NewCath has had a tremendous season, and won't be a pushover for a district winner next week.

Highlands is now 13-4-3 on the season, with 62 goals for and 35 against.

The Breds are 14-5-2 on the season, with 64 goals for and 24 against, albeit against a slightly different schedule the top teams in the 9th played.  RPI and Maher Rankings would make NewCath a slight favorite over CovCath if the two were to meet in the 1st round of the Region, although I don't feel that way, but it makes me root for that to be the outcome of the draw.

Good luck to both teams in the 9th next week, I know Highlands still has a bad taste in their mouth from last year's tourney at St. Henry, so a deep run next week would be just the mouthwash they are looking for.
