Newport Central Catholic 1 Covington Holy Cross 0 (9th Region All A Semifinals)

NewCath moves to 6-0-1 on the season with a win over the Indians. The Breds move on to play the Crusaders of SHDHS for the 9th Region All A Championship.

As has been discussed, Holy Cross is going to be in a battle with Beechwood for that 2nd 35th District team to make it to the 9th Region Tournament, and while this loss drops them to 4-2-0 on the season, it is a whole lot more competitive feeling than their 0-5 blasting by Dixie.

The Indians' schedule gets a lot harder over the next few games, as they take on Bishop Brossart, then their 35th rivals Beechwood, followed by St. Henry and Cooper. If they could come out of that 4 game stretch with only 2 losses, they'd have to feel pretty good about their chances the rest of the way. Really, for HC, it is all going to come down to their 35th District Semi-Finals' game in October versus Beechwood to determine how they ultimately feel about this season.
