Trinity 5 Covington Catholic 0

One Saturday "heavyweight battle" that did get played in the afternoon before the storms rolled in took place in Park Hills, and saw a really competitive first half, and then the flood-gates open after halftime and the green wave come pouring in and submerging the Colonels (super awkward, I know, just go with it).

The Rocks led 1-0 at halftime, got one, and the game's intensity seemed to subside as Trinity used it to spring forward, and CovCath seemed to wilt after the 2nd, and a half hour later Trinity is doing a cool-down on the pitch with a 5-0 win in their pocket.  Trinity moves to 4-0 on the season, but this is the first time they've scored more than 2 goals in a game (they have, admittedly, played a GREAT schedule thus far).  They log their 2nd clean sheet in blanking the Colonels on their home field.

CovCath falls to 2-2, being shut-out for the first time, and giving up 5 goals for the first time, having given up 4 as a high-point to Madison Central in a 5-4 win.

Given what CovCath lost to graduation, you expected them to have some fits and starts until everything settled into place with the new pieces, but 0-5 to Trinity at home is probably beyond what they thought was feasible.  Truth be told, 0-2 or 0-3 would probably have been a better gauge for the flow of the game, but 0-5 is what it is and what will go into the books.

No rest for the Colonels as they go to Highlands on Tuesday and then to North Oldham on Thursday, before traveling to Louisville to play St. Xavier on Saturday.
