Purple88
The KSLL Girls State Championship Semi-Finals were played last night at KCD. Sacred Heart defeated Manual 13-6 in a hard fought game. The nightcap saw host and defending state champs KCD defeat a good Eastern team 15-7 in another hard fought game. The KSLL State Championship will be a repeat of last years State Championship game (and all 4 Semi-Final Teams as well) with KCD taking on Sacred Heart at 7pm at KCD. It should be a great game as Sacred Heart was able to defeat KCD early in the season in a close game. Good luck to both teams! And great seasons for both Eastern and Manual as well. Girls Lacrosse is a top heavy sport at the moment, but glad other schools around the commonwealth are giving it a try!
Purple88
In the KSLL State Championship Game last evening at KCD, the host KCD Bearcats defeated a very good Sacred Heart team 7 to 5 in an event packed and storm riddled evening in Northeast Louisville. The game had multiple yellow cards, and injury delay and several lightning delays; the most noted was the game was postponed for a 30-minute lightning stint at 9:50 pm with less than 5 minutes to go in the game after several lightning strikes were seen earlier. Always difficult to have to deal with the weather (heat index, lightning, etc.). Congratulations to Coach Pat McAnaulty and the Back to Back State Champ KCD Bearcats!
