Record: (29-4), (16-0 Region).

Coach Shannon Hoskins is in his 10th season at Perry Central and has a 194-89 record. 6 of those he's won 20+ games. 4 of those, he's won 25+ games.

The Commodores lay claim to kings of the 14th once again, as they have won the 2022 14th Region Tournament at Fairce O'Woods Coliseum in Jackson (Breathitt County). This makes (Since KHSAA Scoreboard goes back to 97/98 season) 7 times that the Commodores have been to the Sweet 16. This is the third time they've been to the Sweet 16 under head coach Shannon Hoskins.

98/99: Lost in the 1st Round to Pleasure Ridge Park 76-59.

99/00: Lost in the 1st Round to Iroquois 69-54.

03/04: Defeated Morgan County 66-45 in the 1st round but fell to Warren Central 55-31 in the second round or the elite 8.

04/05: Lost in the 1st Round to E-Town 70-60.

10/11: Lost in the 1st Round to Wayne County 68-58.

16/17: Defeated Pikeville 61-46 but fell to Covington Scott 74-52 in the elite 8.

18/19: Lost in the 1st Round to Butler 65-62 in overtime.

54th District Tournament (Hazard Memorial Gym):

The Commodores got things started off with a big 23 point win over Leslie County 67-44. Perry County Central would follow that up with a big 14 point win over Hazard 62-48. Perry County Central went 7-0 in district play this season and had just 1 game that was in the single digits and that was the regular season game with Hazard on the same court. 42-39 just 8 days apart from each game with Hazard.

14th Region Tournament (Fairce O'Woods Coliseum Breathitt County):

Opening Round: Perry County Central wouldn't have any problems in they're opening round game with Powell County as they crushed the Pirates by 28, 66-38.

Semi-Finals: Things would be a little tougher for the 'Dores in the semi-finals as they would matchup up with the Breathitt County Bobcats, who had just defeated Knott County Central 67-43. Perry County Central would end up having a double digit lead throughout the game but Breathitt County would battle back but Perry County Central would pull away and go on to win 57-48.

Championship: Perry County Central would meet up with Estill County in the championship game on Tuesday night to see who would go on to Rupp Arena and the KHSAA Sweet 16. First half would be a darn good game as the Commodores would take a 28-27 lead into halftime. Commodores would put Estill away in the second half, outscoring the Engineers 36-19 on they're way to a 64-46 win. Perry County Central held Estill to just 5 points in the 3rd quarter.

Now here comes the Sweet 16 matchup.

Perry County Central, with winning the 14th Region, has earned themselves a date with the #1 ranked team in the state in George. Rogers. Clark. These two have met 3 times since the KHSAA scoreboard was made.

99/00: Perry County Central won 65-61 at Perry County Central.

16/17: Perry County Central won 62-52 at Lexington Catholic.

17/18: George Rogers Clark won 63-51 at Rowan County.

Perry County Central will look to get Landon Napier back on track following the Estill County game. He is Perry County Central's leading scorer at 16 points a game. Rydge Beverly, Lance McKenzie, Tyler Day, Dylan Brock can also score. Perry County Central is a good rebounding team and they get a lot of put back shots and love to shoot the 3. As a team they are 34% from 3. Free throw shooting is where they struggle however. 311/535 Free throws and attempts on the season. They were 7/23 in the 14th Region Championship game against Estill County. They average about 26 boards a game.
