We're headed into the final week of the regular season. Most district tournaments are already set. Let's take a look and see what all happened inside the 14th Region.

After they're back to back losses to Madison Central and North Laurel, Perry County Central has went on a three game win streak, defeating Clay County 63-52 in the Bobby Keith Classic, district foe, Leslie County 71-35 and 14th region foe Knott County Central 50-47 in a thriller. Schedule doesn't get any easier this week, the final week of the season. 

Breathitt County continues to roll. Bobcats have now won 5 straight after last week's 3 straight wins. Hazard 57-50, Powell County 75-57 and Grant County 64-63. Bobcats have now won 8 of they're last 9 games. Another stat, Breathitt County has lost just 3 games in 2022.  In they're 82-60 win over Letcher County Central a couple weeks ago, Breathitt County put up a stunning 43 points in the 4th quarter.

The Cordia Lions are starting to get hot, having won 4 straight and 6 of they're previous 7 games. Cordia had advanced to the 53rd District Championship and 14th Region Tournament due to the 53rd district being a 3 team district and them having the #1 seed. 

Letcher County Central has now dropped 5 of they're last 7 games. The Cougars won last night's game against Leslie County 74-57 but lost today's game against Hazard 70-53. Monday vs. Buckhorn, Tuesday at Prestonsburg, Thursday at Breathitt County.

Knott County Central continues to struggle and that's a big big surprise especially with BB King at the helm. The Patriots will be lucky to make it to double digit wins this season. Friday at Shelby Valley.

Hazard split four games last week, falling to both Breathitt County 57-50 (which ended Hazard's 21 game home win streak) and Harlan Independent 62-51. The Bulldogs countered both of those losses with two wins of they're own, defeating Estill County 61-59 in a thriller and Letcher County Central 70-53.

After a good start to the season, the Wolves have took a different turn. They have now lost 3 of they're last 5 games. They defeated Sayre 75-65 to end a 2 game skid. Schedule shows that Wolfe County will take on the same Sayre team on Monday at Wolfe County which would make two straight trips for Sayre up into the mountains to take on Wolfe County in Campton in recent days.

Engineers are starting to struggle, playing good but struggling. Estill County had a furious comeback attempt against Hazard on Friday that seen them down double digits with 3 minutes to go and came up short to the Bulldogs 61-59. Estill County went on the road Saturday to face a Berea Pirate team that they defeated 77-50 in the second game of the season, but this game would have a different story as the Berea Pirates would edge out Estill County 69-63. Estill County has now lost two straight and 3 of they're last 4 games. 

Buckhorn went 2-1 last week, defeating both Phelps 71-55 and Jenkins 76-56 but falling to Cordia 84-60.

2) Breathitt County (22-5): Tuesday at Perry County Central, Thursday vs. Letcher County Central, Saturday vs. Evangel Christian.

3) Hazard (17-8? Monday vs. Berea, Friday vs. Perry County Central.

4) Wolfe County (16-9): Monday vs. Sayre (Per KHSAA Schedule, This would be second time in a week that Sayre has came to Wolfe County and third time this season they've played), Friday vs. Leslie County and Saturday vs. Boyd County.

5) Cordia (11-10): Monday vs. Pike County Central, Tuesday vs. Oneida Baptist Institute, Thursday vs. Belfry.

6) Letcher County Central (11-15): Monday vs. Buckhorn, Tuesday at Prestonsburg, Thursday at Breathitt County, Sunday at Knott County Central (53rd District).

7 ) Knott County Central (7-15) : Friday at Shelby Valley, Sunday vs. Letcher County Central (53rd District).

8 ) Estill County (12-12): Tuesday vs. Robertson County, Friday at Lee County.

9) Buckhorn (11-16? Monday at Letcher County Central, Wednesday at Berea, Friday at Morgan County.

10) Lee County (12-13): Monday vs. Morgan County, Tuesday vs. Jenkins, Friday vs. Estill County (D).

11) Powell County (8-18) : Monday vs. Owsley County (D), Tuesday vs. Menifee County, Thursday at Burgin, Friday vs. Jackson City.

12) Leslie County (3-20) : Monday at Whitley County, Thursday at Wolfe County, Friday vs. Oneida Baptist Institute.

13) Jackson City (2-18) : Tuesday vs. Owsley County, Thursday at Oneida Baptist Institute, Friday at Powell County (D).

14) Owsley County (5-20) : Monday at Powell County (D), Tuesday at Jackson City, Friday vs. Berea, Saturday at Burgin.
