We are officially in the last month of the 2021/22 regular season in basketball. District Tournaments will be played this month like they always are so teams will be sent home early but let's not get ahead of ourselves and take a look back at last week's 14th region.

Perry County Central adds two very late games to the schedule both against top ranked teams in the state and both were on the road. Friday at #11 Madison Central and Saturday at #6 North Laurel. Perry County Central would lose both games, falling 79-62 to Madison Central and 74-65 to North Laurel. Estill County transfer, Landon Napier led Perry County Central in scoring at Madison Central with 25. He was also Perry's leading scorer at North Laurel with 19. The losses snapped Perry County Central's 9 game win streak. 

Bobcats pick up two back to back wins. Breathitt County defeated both Harlan County 80-68 and Letcher County Central 82-60 (at Buckhorn Scott Blank Classic) this past week. Breathitt County has now won 5 of they're last 6 games.

Letcher County Central picked up a big 49-47 win over district foe Knott County Central. That makes the second win this season for the Cougars over Knott County Central. Letcher County Central would fall in they're next game to Breathitt County 82-60 in the Scott Blank Classic at Buckhorn. 

Knott County Central split both games last week, falling 49-47 to Letcher County Central but defeating Wolfe County 54-45.

Wolfe County has now dropped 2 straight and 3 of they're last 5 games after last week's losses. The Wolves fell on the road last week, falling 72-63 to Estill County and 54-45 to Knott County Central. Wolves have lost 4 of they're last 6 games. 

Engineers starting to get hot. Estill County has won four straight games, 3 of them in a row on as many nights. Estill County picked up another huge district win on Monday, defeating Powell County 52-48. Estill County would follow that up by defeating Trinity Christian 79-49. Estill County had to move the Wolfe County game, that was originally scheduled for Friday, to Wednesday. Estill County would get revenge on the Wolves and go on to defeat them 72-63. Estill has now won 4 straight and 5 of they're last 6.

Hazard won they're only game of the week last week, defeating Owsley County 66-46 on the road in Booneville. They have won 2 straight and 4 of they're last 5 games.

Cordia split two games last week, edging out Belfry 86-85 but fell to Knox Central 75-60. They have lost 4 of they're last 6 games.

Buckhorn, also split two games last week, falling 68-52 to Oneida Baptist Institute for the second time this season but bouncing back and picking up a 71-55 win over Phelps in they're own Scott Blank Classic.

3) Hazard (16-6): Monday vs. Breathitt County, Wednesday at Harlan Independent, Friday at Estill County, Sunday vs. Letcher County Central.

4) Wolfe County (15-9): Friday at Pikeville.

5) Letcher County Central (10-13): Thursday vs. Cordia (D), Friday vs. Leslie County, Saturday at Hazard.

6) Cordia (10-13): Tuesday vs. Buckhorn, Thursday at Letcher County Central (D), Saturday vs. Owsley County (at Jackson City KY Prep Showcase).

7) Estill County (11-9): Monday at Somerset, Wednesday vs. Owsley County (D), Friday vs. Hazard, Saturday at Berea.

8 ) Knott County Central (6-12): Tuesday vs. Martin County, Thursday at Pike County Central, Sunday at Perry County Central.

11) Powell County (7-15): Monday at Jackson City, Tuesday at Breathitt County, Thursday vs. Montgomery County, Friday vs. Lee County (D).

12) Leslie County (3-16): Tuesday vs. Jackson County, Thursday at Perry County Central (D), Saturday at Letcher County Central, Sunday vs. Owsley County.
