Strong to Severe Storms for New Year's Eve

Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible on New Year's Eve. Though a few storms could form earlier conditions could become favorable for scattered storms to develop by Saturday morning. Strong shear and veering low-level winds will mean all severe hazards are possible. Greater potential for storms to form in a line is expected to keep the severe threat more isolated. The period covered by the following maps is from 7 pm/6 central Friday to 7 am/6 central Saturday. I'm a little concerned about the area near Bowling Green and Glasgow. About the end of the model run the threat of tornadoes increases. I will post an update in the morning.

If you plan on being out celebrating New Year's Eve have a way to get severe weather warnings.
