nWo
The first week of the new year could be quite interesting. We could see all versions of precipitation. Starting as rain then changing over to freezing rain and ending as some snow. If this data holds, we are two weeks away, things could be quite interesting. First, let look at the temperatures. They could rise into the mid to upper 60s in western Kentucky and from the low 50s to mid-60s for most of the rest of Kentucky on Wednesday, January 5. This will be caused by warm moist air moving northeasterly into Kentucky. Then a cold front will move in from the northwest. Depending on timing the cold air will try to overrun the precipitation turning it into freezing rain/ice then snow. It should be ending during the day on Friday. Check back for updates as we get closer.
