Notes:

-I confess that athletics feel insignificant when I consider the storms that hit our region this weekend.  Warren County was hit by the most significant tornado in my lifetime, the deadliest in the history of the city and county.  Games were canceled over the weekend and during this week as a result, and the community will take time to heal.

-On the court, it was mostly business as usual.  Greenwood, Warren Central, and Bowling Green continue to stay separate from the pack, winning handily.  Cancellations removed games that were likely going to be wins anyway, but we know now that it will be a battle of unbeatens when Greenwood visits Bowling Green on Friday, December 17th.  Greenwood has lost 15 in a row at the home of the Purples, not winning there since 2009.  Few of those losses have been close.  This game marks a critical step in their progression.  Win, and consolidate your favorite status.  Lose, and you let Bowling Green maintain a critical mental edge.  Greenwood needs to believe they can win against Bowling Green.

-Clinton County notched an important win, coming from behind in the fourth quarter on the road at Metcalfe County.  That gives them a strong edge in the race for #1 in the 16th, as the Hornets would now have to win at Clinton County to pull into a tie (in all likelihood).  The Bulldogs were not strong from the field in the game, shooting only 37%, but ate at the free throw line, scoring 20 of their 57 from the charity stripe.

-I was tempted to move Russellville down as even half strength, losing to Whitesville Trinity raises eyebrows.  But they're still not whole, and I would really like to see how they perform with their top players first.

-The bottom five teams are a combined 1-20.  There is an even more dramatic difference between haves and have nots in the region than normal.

-South Warren is another team that doesn't appear to be full strength yet, but they probably need to get right pretty quick.  They have a district game with Warren East on Friday, and if they continue to have plans on getting out of the district tournament, they absolutely cannot afford to drop games to teams outside the Greenwood/Warren Central/Bowling Green group.
