BluegrassPreps.com 7th Region Week 1 Review

It was nice to get the season started and not much change in the rankings this week. Ballard showed they are good as expected and went toe-to-toe with National power Prolific Prep out of California who has a Kansas Commit and Ballard lost in close game 78-72. Ballard's Kentucky opponents were not close games with Ballard winning both. Big matchup this week as Ballard will take on 7th Region #4 Christian Academy who has Ohio St. commit George Washinton III. Gabe Sisk has led the way for Ballard averaging 25 points a game.

Male has started 2-1 with their only loss to North Gwinnett (GA) 60-54. They have also had close games with DeSales and Trinity. Now that football is over, Male will be gaining some football players most notably Selah Brown who is a bruiser down low. Male has been led by Louisville commit Kaleb Glenn who is averaging 21.3 points and 13.7 rebounds. Male will take on improved Central team who is 1-1 this week.

Manual holds at #3 starting the season 2-0 with a dominant win over North Oldham 71-55. Manual is led by two 20 point scorers with Christian Doeer at 22 points per game and Damone King at 20 per game. Most notably JuWaun Northington hasn't played and is not on the roster so he is probably going to just concentrate on getting ready for college football. Manual has big game this week against St. Xavier.

Christian Academy has started off 3-0. Ohio St. commit has carried the way averaging 27.5 points per game. They have a big matchup with Ballard this week.
