December 2, 20214 yr Everyone should enjoy the unseasonably warm temps we will see for the next couple of weeks. It appears big changes are on the horizon starting around the New Year's weekend. To close out 2021 we could see temps in the 60s on December 28th and see them fall into the 20s on the 29th. That's around a 40 degree drop in about 24 hrs! A Low pressure system will form on the southern edge of a cold front and it will move southeast into Texas. This will help funnel Gulf moisture towards Kentucky. This map shows the amount of moisture at the surface that could result into rain/snow. It all depends on timing. This is the CFS simulated radar for the same time period. For now it's showing the possibility of rain turning into freezing rain/snow. How much in accumulations is impossible to forecast this far in advance. Just wanted to show what I've been keeping and eye on for about a week now. Updates will come as we get closer to the last week in December.
