Sounds like the rather mundane play for the Colonels that has followed them all year continued in this one, scoring twice (Roland and then Pieper) late in the 1st half to tie the game, and then jump ahead, all within a 2 minute span, but doing very little offensively for the remainder of the night.  Cam Montgomery put the Cru ahead very early in this one, but ultimately the Cru couldn't find another to give themselves a little insurance, and then after the Colonels jumped ahead, were never able to find an equalizer.

From a Cru parent, their best chance to draw level was a Matt Resing charge through the center of the Colonel defense, where he was knocked off balance at the top of 18 before firing a shot over the crossbar, and not drawing the benefit of the whistle on what St. Henry faithful felt like was a sure-fire foul just outside the box.

St. Henry ends their season 7-13-0, and knowing they took their Catholic brethren to the very brink on the Colonels' home field in this game.  They lose both Montgomery and Litzler, so Coach Hahn will have a fair amount to replace, but the Cru will be back in the mix again next year, you can be sure.

CovCath advances to play Highlands on Thursday night at St. Henry, the day before the same two teams play their legendary rivalry-game in football on Friday night in the Fort.
