Severe Storms possible Monday 10/11/21

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move into portions of Western Kentucky on Monday.
 Strong/locally severe storms -- including potential for hail, locally damaging winds, 
and a couple of tornadoes -- are expected.

The severe threat has diminished some. Most of western Kentucky is in a Category 1 Marginal Risk Area for possible storms during the day on Monday.

Monday morning update:

   Scattered thunderstorms are expected to form in at least a couple of  arcs from mid/late morning through this afternoon,  east of the surface low and front.  The convective arcs may contain supercells.  A few    tornadoes, along with sporadic large hail and damaging to severe gusts, will be possible.  Widely scattered to scattered thunderstorms also are expected to develop near the front today.

The Storm Prediction Center has portions of western Kentucky in a category 1 Marginal Risk Area for strong to severe storms.
