The convective arcs may contain supercells. A few tornadoes, along with sporadic large hail and damaging to severe gusts, will be possible. Widely scattered to scattered thunderstorms also are expected to develop near the front today. The Storm Prediction Center has portions of western Kentucky in a category 1 Marginal Risk Area for strong to severe storms. This is to remind everyone what does each category mean. This simulated HRRR radar shows the time for this afternoon from 1-9 pm Central EDT.
