In a game that saw a long lightning delay with 22 minutes remaining in the game, and CovCath leading 2-0, the Colonels maintain that score when play resumed and win another 35th District title over a very solid Beechwood team.  Give Beechwood, both boys and girls, a lot of credit for playing CovCath and Notre Dame extremely tough in the 35th finals -- a lot to be proud of on Beechwood Road.

CovCath continues to be very good in the back, and while talented and creative up top, they can't seem to consistently score.  I think that will be their inevitable undoing when they play Cooper, Ryle, or Highlands (and maybe Dixie...again).  They have just seemed a little off all year, and while they have time to figure it out before Tuesday night and whomever they host in Park Hills (and beyond), I still think they are, at best, the 4th choice to get out of the 9th.

The last thing CovCath wants is to draw Cooper in the first round, even with the opportunity to host.  Beechwood, who is solid between the pipes, good along the back, and physical and aggressive in the middle of the field from sideline to sideline, will make whichever District Champ they draw have to work for 80 minutes.
