Raceland 58 Fairview 49

Featured Replies

Final.

Raceland was lead in scoring by Sparks, Mullins and Boyles in a 58-49 victory over arch rival Fairview in the Raceland Derby Classic tonight. This puts the Rams at 2-0 in the round robin style tourney and will play Green Co. Friday night I believe. Raceland is now 7-2 on the season. Good win for the Ramblers tonight.:thumb:

Excellent defensive job by Raceland. They were very physical and I think it took a toll on the Eagles.I would say that Fairview shot around 35% and it seemed as though every Fairview shot was contested. Both teams played extremely hard.

I agree AC, the one constant about Raceland is their defense. They played their hearts out an deserved this win. Fairview's kids also played hard. Imo Fairview was not in as good physical condition as Raceland's were and that certainly showed in the 2nd half. Fairview's players were gasping for air and were obviously very tired. Barker was the only one that it looked like had any "legs" left. By the way, the Barker kid for Fairview is one heck of a basketball player, he is talented and plays all out 100% of the time. I do not mean the (out of shape) comment as a cut on the Eagles at all, Just my observations.

Nice win for the Rams. Great effort on the defensive side. Shot selection needs to improve.

Good win by Rams.

Also smart pool selection. Maybe Coach Johnson could give Coach Pratt a few pointers.:D

Raceland Russell final will bring out a good crowd if it happens.

Good summary old Rambler-However I believe that Fairview is in good shape but the physical style of Raceland took a lot out of them.Raceland basketball never gets the respect they deserve. They are much better than their individual parts and will be a factor in the region.

Boone may have something to say about that.I look for Russell to play better tonight than they did against West.
