The Professor Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 Knott Central put together their best game of the season, according to one of their long time fans I spoke to after the game, to defeat Owsley County 91-79 Monday. The Lady Patriots took an early lead and settled into a comfort zone with their shooting. During the game they made at least three treys from the 24-26 feet range and even banked a longer 3 in as the horn sounded to end the 3rd quarter. The Lady Owls didn’t quit and cut into the lead in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late. Two players for the Lady Owls scored 66 of their 79 points, with senior guard Lexy Lynch getting 45 points and freshman guard Carly Smith scoring 21. Owsley County’s season ended with a 20-4 record, which included a win over Knott Central in the All A. Knott Central’s record improved to 19-7. Letcher Central defeated Powell County 64-55 in the second semifinal contest to set up the championship game Tuesday. 1
