Owensboro 79 Owensboro Catholic 51

Featured Replies

The Devils are really starting to turn the corner.  Kenyatta Carbon is playing like one of the best players in Western Kentucky right now.  He scored 35 vs Ohio County Friday and 27 against Catholic last night in limited minutes in the 4th quarter.  Coach Drake has started to find his 8-9 guys to rotate in and all of them are giving Owensboro good minutes right now.

On the flip side, the Aces lost Brian Griffith and Ji Webb within a minute of each other last night.  It felt like the Devils had already taken control in the 3rd quarter before the injuries but the bigger story has to be, how bad are they hurt??  Griffith's injury looked really bad.  He went to cut at mid court and just dropped in pain.  It looked like a knee injury to me.  Just one minute before, the Aces lost Webb after he landed poorly on a dunk attempt.  At first, I thought he might have broke his leg but he was up and even returned to the game for a bit.  Looked like maybe a muscle injury of some sort.  Either way, the Aces are already down Gray Weaver for the season.  If Brian or Ji can't go against Daviess County next week, its going to be an uphill battle for them from here on out.
