North vs. North on Tuesday in Goshen, KY as the North Oldham Mustangs host the North Hardin Trojans.

North Oldham coming off a 73-71 loss to Evangel, North Hardin coming off an equally narrow victory (61-59) over county rival Central Hardin.

Hard to figure this one out.   Both of these teams have struggled to get signature wins - but both have shown the ability to play top-tier competition close....such as:

North Oldham fell to top 10 Oldham County by just 9....

North Oldham's only loss by more than 14 points was a 21 point loss to Jeffersonville, IN.

North Hardin fell to John Hardin by just 8....

The Trojans' worst loss was a 35 point loss to E-town.

North Oldham is probably better than their record.    But a brutal schedule, injuries to key players (Dallas Roberts and Caleb Hawley), plus down time due to COVID and weather have really made it a miserable season in the win-loss column for the Mustangs.   On the court, the Mustangs have struggled to stop teams, giving up over 70 points to 6 of their 10 opponents.

On the plus side, sophomore Dallas Roberts - a preseason 8th Region Player of the Year contender - has been magnificent.   Roberts leads the team in scoring at 20.8 ppg, is hitting 40% beyond the arc, and an incredible 46 of 50 at the line (92%).  A three-year starter, Roberts will likely finish the year as the team's leading scorer for the 2nd time, and is well on the way to not only eclipse, but perhaps blow away, the school scoring record set by his coach, David Levitch.

Junior guard Austin Carr-Cole is averaging 17.9 ppg and sophomore center Ian Higdon isn't far from a double-double at 11 ppg and 7.7 rebounds.

North Hardin is trying to develop consistency.   The Trojans haven't won - or lost, for that matter - more than two gams in a row this season.

Queshaun Davis leads North Hardin at 14.3 ppg and adds 5.4 rebounds.

Shaun Boykins is the only other Trojan in double digits at 10.3 ppg.

Aiden Evans leads NH on the board at just over 6 rebounds a game.

Four Trojans average over 4 rebounds a game....

North Hardin's biggest concern is at the charity stripe.   North Hardin is hitting just 58.2% at the stripe.   The two players who have attempted the most free throws - Davis and Boykins - are hitting just 51.5% and 60%, respectively.

Pegasus Sports goes on-air with the pregame show at 7 pm.   www.pegasussportsky.com   The video broadcast is free; you will get prompted for $7 - that's for the high definition version and the proceeds go to the local high schools to help alleviate losses in gate revenue / concession revenue due to COVID.

I'll try to post updates during the game.
