nWo
We will get a short break after this storm moves out on Tuesday. The next winter maker for Kentucky will move in late Wednesday afternoon/early evening and last through Friday morning. The three mid-range models I use all have the system taking almost the same track as this storm. The GFS does have some warmer air trying to move in that will change the wintry precipitation to rain before the cold air wraps back around the low and change it back over to snow. Both the European and Canadian models have to system a little weaker than the GFS but still have the storm producing accumulation snows and freezing rain. GFS The European Canadian I will post more on this system tomorrow.
nWo
Monday evening update on the next system to affect Kentucky. We will be facing our third winter system in a week starting later in the day on Wednesday through Friday. Snow, freezing rain and also rain will be possible. As the system progress through the day on Thursday warm air is forecast to move in and change the wintry precipitation into rain before wrap around cold air changes the rain back into snow. Here is what the GFS is showing. The temperature maps show the warm air trying to move in Kentucky mainly east of I-75. The European model somewhat agrees with the GFS. The Canadian shows the precipitation starting out as wintry mix then change over and remaining all rain east of I-75. An update will be posted in the morning.
