Notes
-Bowling Green returned to the hardwood after seventeen days off, and picked up right where they left off.  First came a bludgeoning of Somerset on the road, where five Purples scored in double figures as the team shot 59.6% from the field in an 87-55 point win.  Then came the even more impressive victory, as they welcomed Ashland in the first game at Bowling Green this season.  After a first quarter where Ashland got out to an 18-9 lead and then still led 27-17 in the second, Bowling Green hit the afterburners, winning the remainder of the game by a 66-30 score for the 83-57 final.  Turner Buttry had 29 in the contest, shooting 6/9 from the field and going a perfect 16/16 from the foul line.  These were the first games back for Conner Cooper, making a deep Bowling Green team even deeper.  This is the week they meet Warren Central, which should show us even more just how far ahead of the rest of the region Bowling Green is.

-One more Bowling Green note - the Purples are 6-0 under returning head coach D.G. Sherrill, who helmed the team from the 05/06 season through 16/17.  His 16/17 team won their final 29 games of that year, making their winning streak under him as head coach 35 in a row.  They've won 29 straight at home under Sherrill, and 51 straight in region play with him as head coach.

-The rest of the top seven held serve as well, going a combined 7-0.  Clinton County has navigated their way to the first double digit win total in the region, moving to 10-1 after their win over Danville.  They clinched the top seed in the 16th District with their win over Metcalfe County.  Barren County locked themselves into the #2 seed by knocking off Glasgow - they'll meet in the district semifinals as well.

-Russellville gets back into the top ten for the first time in several years with a 4-1 stretch in their last five games, including defeating Logan County in overtime this week.  The Panthers lost 21 of their final 24 games a year ago, but their first win over Logan County in four years is another signal that the program is on the rebound.  They clinched the #2 seed in the 13th District tournament with the win.  As with Barren County and Glasgow, rivals Russellville and Logan County will likewise meet in the district semifinals this postseason.
