Team Kentucky & FBU National Championship

Featured Replies

Time to get excited about Team KY (probably for 6th, 7th and 8th grade) the FBU National Championship.  The 6th and 7th grade teams were both knocked out in very close games in the semi-finals in Naples, Florida.  The 8th Grade team with future FC star Kalen Washington (likely some Boyle County guys on there too - I just don't have the roster) will play in the National Championship game tomorrow night at 7:30.

A one-hour "what this tournament is all about" video is here:

A link to where you can watch the game is here:

I just wanted you guys to know about this!

Many future stars on Friday Night Lights are playing here and representing Kentucky in great form!!!

Team Kentucky fell last night 26-7 to Team GFL (Greater Florida).  The score is a larger margin than the game was.  GFL got a Pick 6 on the last play of the game as KY tried a hail mary.

The KY defense play really, really well.  This GFL team had been smoking other teams by a typical margin of 42-14.  The GFL team won this tourney as 6th and 7th graders as well, so they are accustomed to this stage.

The KY kids played hard and never quit and showed alot of grit.  Yes they came up short yesterday but there is a lot to be proud of off this team.  Kids from the Team KY are from all across the state.  I don't have a roster or I'd share it.  This is the first time a KY team has made it to the Championship game of this tournament.  Impressive!

Merry Christmas!
