nWo Posted July 11, 2020 Share Posted July 11, 2020 Portions of Kentucky could be in for a stormy period later this afternoon into early Sunday morning. This afternoon portions of western Kentucky could see strong to severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 2 Slight Risk Area for that portion of the state. A level 1 Marginal Risk Area is in effect to about I-65. For western Kentucky: Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected, starting later today and continuing into tonight. Conditions will be favorable for a few strong to severe thunderstorms containing large hail and damaging wind. For central Kentucky: A few strong thunderstorms will be possible tonight, with the main threats being hail, locally gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. The following HRRR radar is from 3 pm this afternoon till 9 am EDT Sunday morning. For Sunday: A few strong severe will be possible on Sunday. For now the main threat will be locally gusty winds and brief torrential rainfall, along with frequent lightning.
