Storms that spawned tornadoes and killed 18 people in the South are heading north

(CNN)Severe storms that killed at least 18 people and destroyed hundreds of structures in the South are moving north, with more than 150 million people under a wind advisory or warning.

 

 

At least 34 tornadoes were reported in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia as of early Monday, the National Weather Service said.

In Mississippi, at least 11 people were killed in the severe weather, the state's Department of Emergency Management tweeted.
