Oldham County 68 North Oldham 40

Featured Replies

Honestly thought that this one might be a little closer, though I thought Oldham was likely the favorite to win.

The Lady Colonels did, indeed, win - but it was only close for a quarter.

Oldham took a 21-19 lead after one period, then seized control of the game with a 16-6 second period and a 21-7 third period. The Lady Colonels coasted from there to a 68-40 victory, improving their record to 11-9 on the season and dropping North Oldham to 11-3 with their second consecutive loss.

The loss deprived North of guaranteeing themselves a third consecutive winning season, a feat that has never been accomplished in Goshen.

Oldham was led by senior forward Maddie Clark, who hit 11 of 15 shots - including 3 of 5 beyond the arc - and 4 of 4 free throws en route to a game-high 29 points. Clark also grabbed five rebounds.

Clark was the only Oldham player in double figures, but she got good support from Kennedi Reohrig, Aliyah Swanson, and Audrey Gast, who each had 8 points.

Oldham shot 26 of 46 from the floor overall for 56.5%. The Lady Colonels made 7 of 13 threes (53.8%) and 9 of 10 at the line (90%).

North was led by star sophomore Riley Neal, who scored 18 points. Kylie Vize also reached double figures with 10.

The Lady Mustangs were, unofficially, 16 of 50 shooting for 32%. They made just 1 of 11 threes for 9%, and 7 of 12 FTs for 58.3%.

The win keeps alive Oldham County's hopes of gaining the District 29 one seed as Oldham's district mark evens at 1-1. North falls to 0-1 in district play.

In one of those strange-but-true trivia notes: Oldham County won their 20th straight game against North Oldham, and now leads the all-time series between the two teams, 20-1.
