Oldham County 80 North Oldham 65

Featured Replies

Race horse game, which suited Oldham well. Colonels up 42-28 at the half, and never really threatened by North in the second half. Lead in the second half mainly stayed between 14-23 points.

Four Oldham players in double digits, led by Deaton Oak with 21. Tyler Slone finished with 20, Sam Campbell with 18, and Xander Wagner-Rose with 13. Oldham 52% from the field, including 39% from beyond the arc. The Colonels shot 76% at the line (16 of 21).

One Mustang the Colonels could not stop, however, was senior center Tyler Higdon, who continues to make a solid case for All-Region honors. Higdon finished (unofficially) with 26 points and 12 boards and was pretty much unstoppable on the inside and on the glass before fouling out late in the game.

Sophomore Rico Carr-Cole had 11 for North and Dallas Roberts scored 10, but the Mustangs star freshman guard hit just 2 of 17 shots.

North hit just 42% from the floor, and was only 2 of 17 beyond the arc. The Mustangs did well at the line, however, hitting 21 of 26. That was impressive; North came into the game shooting just 61% as a team at the line.

Oldham improves to 17-2 on the year, and wins their 8th-straight game - the longest streak in the region right now.

North falls to 10-9.

Oldham County now leads the series all-time, 18-8, and has won eight straight against the Mustangs.

The win gives Oldham County the #1 seed in the 29th District basketball tournament. The Colonels will play Trimble County in round 1. North Oldham and South Oldham will face each other in the other first round game.

Pegasus Sports wants to apologize to all who tuned in at 7:40 pm, but didn't get to see any of the broadcast until PSN finally got on the air late in the second period. The company that streams our broadcasts (BoxCast, out of Cleveland), had some issues, and was unable to stream our broadcast immediately. We finally got on the air shortly after 8 pm with about 2 minutes left in the first half. :-( Ruined what had been a perfectly good Friday up until that point for me!

Congrats to the Colonels on the solid win!
