NewCath 64 Brossart 53

Recommended Posts

Wild game, extremely rough game, big loud crowd.

NewCath jumps out to huge lead in the first quarter and ends up leading 23-12 after one. Brossart lives at the foul line as everyone for NewCath got in foul trouble in a second quarter that took about an hour to play, and cuts the lead down to 31-26 at the half.

Third period NewCath stops the fouling somewhat and maintains the lead. Brossart comes roaring back in the fourth quarter to take a 51-50 lead with just over 2 minutes to play. After a NewCath TO, Klei takes over the game at that point and NewCath runs off 12 straight points to take a 62-51 lead.

APNW, did Brossart make any adjustments to try and stop Klei? It sounds as though this was a fun game to watch.

Brossart had more trouble with NCC center Cundiff than anyone else as she had 26 points. I thought Brossart did a decent job of letting the other players besides Cundiff and Klei try to beat them in the half court offense. Although NCC likes to run a lot to try and stay out of the half court.

Brossart actually shot the ball pretty well from about 12-16 feet considering they have no outside 3 point game and they don't handle the ball all that well. What Brossart did do well was score alot on out of bounds plays which were extremely well executed. And they also offensive rebounded missed foul shots which is why they lived on the line the entire second quarter. Do that every night and they will win their share this year.

Hard to tell how good NCC can be because they had so much foul trouble and had to shuffle players in and out all night. Of the 2 NCC Frosh, point guard Sanfoss was in deep foul trouble all night and eventually fouled out maybe playing 16 minutes total and getting 3 points. Tabor might just be a force by the end of the year once she learns to play the high school game and has some offensive skills (8 points) and the high school size already.
