Trimble County at Oldham County 12-13-19 predictions / updates

The Trimble County Raiders travel to Buckner on Friday to face the Oldham County Colonels in an early-season 29th District seeding battle.

Trimble County is coming off a victory over Owen County that has evened the Raiders' record at 2-2 on the season. Beau Turner (10.3 ppg), Dylan Jennings (12.3 ppg), and Reece Webster (12.5 ppg) lead Trimble, which is on a 14 game losing streak against the Colonels. The Raiders' last win in the series came on 12/19/08, when Trimble beat Oldham County, 59-48, in Bedford.

Oldham comes in with a 3-0 mark, but this Oldham team is still a bit of an unknown. The Colonels only really feature one returning starter, and four of the starters are underclassmen. Granted, those players were the mainstays on a pretty good JV team last year, but "varsity speed" is totally different.

The Colonels are led by Deaton Oak, averaging 17.7 ppg. Sam Campbell (15.7), Xander Wagner-Rose (14.7 / 8.0 rebounds), and Tyler Sloane (10.0) also average in double digits. A pretty strong shooting team, Oldham is hitting 49% from the floor and 38% from beyond the arc.

This game undoubtedly hinges upon the Oldham pressure defense and how Trimble handles it.
