October 6, 20197 yr Portions of southcentral Kentucky have been placed into a category 1 Marginal Risk Area for strong to severe storms later today. A few scattered strong to severe thunderstorms capable of hail and marginally severe wind gusts are possible. Heating of the air mass before a front passes will lead to a moderate destabilization this afternoon although lingering early day cloud cover/precipitation may be detrimental to more appreciable destabilization. The potential should be maximized during the afternoon/early evening but may linger locally into the overnight hours.
