Pikeville 47 Bardstown 25

Featured Replies

This was a close game for a while. Pikeville jumped out early and Bardstonw came back and actually led in the 2nd Half. Pikeville put it away in the 4th Quarter. The key play was Pikeville was holding a 28-25 lead, Bardstown had them in a 3rd and Long and Pikeville went deep. The Tigers had good coverage with the corner back and the Safety helping, but the ball was underthrown and the Panther receiver made the adjustment for the big gain to set up a TD.

From what I saw:

- Pikeville definitely has weapons at the skill spots and their Offense looks very good. Offensive line was holding up pretty well and the Panthers do a really good job spreading the Defense but mixing the run in.

- Defensively, Pikeville appears to have regressed a little in their Front 7. Definitely still very solid for a 1A team, but I thought their D-Line and LB's ability to be disruptive was a huge key to their success and so far I don't quite see the ability to dominate.

- Bardstown impressed me and looked much better than I was expecting. Good size, good athletes, QB looked solid. They are going to win some games. They shot themselves in the foot and missed some opportunities and their run game needs some work, definitely a team in that 11-15 range in 3A I would say.

I was proud of my Tigers. We had them in the sights and let the wheels fall off. We played fast and physical and made too many errors. We will clean it up and be there when it comes around. Hensley worth the price of admission.
