Conditions could be favorable for marginally severe wind gusts with stronger storms or multi cells. Parts of the cat. 1 Marginal Risk area may have the potential for a more substantial wind damage threat, especially if a cold pool aloft can develop. A cold pool means there is a region of relatively low instability. However, the exact placement and timing of cold pool development will depend upon mesoscale conditions that can be not be predicted this time.

The following radar is from 5 pm Sunday to 8 am Monday morning EDT.

A slow-moving cold front will interact with very moist conditions is expected to result in scattered showers and thunderstorms across for portions of the Ohio Valley. Vertical wind shear, changing of wind direction with height will be very weak. This will limit storm organization and how long the storms will last. With that being said a few water loaded downbursts capable of damaging wind gust are possible. The Storm Prediction Center has expanded the Marginal Risk Area to include more of Kentucky.
