March 25, 20197 yr Garrett Schoenle threw 8 1/3 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 12. In the 2nd Cole Murphy singled to left. AJ Bumpass walked. Eric Santiago bunt singled to the pitcher, loading the bases. Then Mason DeAnna scraficed Murphy home. In the 3rd with 1 out, Joey Bellini was hit by a pitch and Wyatt Stapp singled to right field, advancing Bellini to second. After Joey Wiemer struck out, Cole Murphy singled to right, scoring Bellini. Mason DeAnna was hit by a pitch from USF reliever Noah Yager with 1 out in the 4th. DeAnna advance to second on a wild pitch and Jeremy Johnson singled, scoring DeAnna. In a reoccurring theme, Joey Wiemer was hit by pitch with 1 out in the 5th and stole second. Cole Murphy stuck out and AJ Bumpass singled Wiemer in. In the 9th, USF made a little noise. With 1 out, Joe Genord singled to left and Austin Bodrado walked. Korren Thompson came in to relieve Schoenle. Thompson walked Brandon Schrepf to load the bases. Pinch hitter Chris Chatfield grounded out 4-3, scoring Genord, and leaving runners on 2nd and 3rd. However, Jake Sullivan also grounded out 4-3, ending the game. UC takes the series, is now 2-1 in conference play, and is 8-14 for the season. USF falls to 1-2 in conference, 12-10 overall.
