Oliver Bjorkstrand cut Calgary's lead to 3-2 with a little over 14 minutes to go in the game, but at 19:09 the Flames scored an empty netter to seal the deal. Zach Werenski scored on a 2 on 1 rush to open the scoring in the 1st period. Carolina and Montreal both won, so the Jackets now hold a single point lead on the Habs for the last playoff spot.
