February 17, 20197 yr The Bolts broke open a raucous, scoreless affair with 3 goals in the 3rd period at Amalie Arena, last night. Andrei Vasilevski got his second shutout in a row, and Tampa Bay won its 5th game in a row. Both teams had goals pulled from the board in the game. In the 2nd, Brett Kulak appeared to have scored the first goal of the game off a pass from Brenden Gallagher, but the Lightning challenged and the Habs were ruled offsides. Montreal challenged a deflection by Tyler Johnson that went into the goal off of a shot by Victor Hedman, which would have been Tampa Bay's 3rd goal. However, after review, it was determined that Tyler interfered with goalie Carey Price just prior to the deflection. After having his deflection goal thrown out, Tyler Johnson scored on a slap shot that nobody could challenge. Nikita Kucherov and Yanni Gourde also scored. Vasilevski's shutout set a new franchise with 18, passing Ben Bishop after being tied with him for only 1 game. Vassy also is now tied with Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury for most shutouts this season. The game ended with a brawl between Anthony Cirelli and Anthony Shaw, after Shaw checked Cirelli hard into the boards with only 15 seconds left in the game. Both players got game misconducts, so Cirelli may not be available for Monday night's game in Columbus. With the Maples Leafs losing to Arizona and Boston beating LA, the Bruins move into second place in the Atlantic, 16 points behind the Lightning.
