Ky Ky Tandy (Xavier Commit), Mr. Kentucky Basketball contendee, lived up to his billing and put on a show, knocking down five 3-pointers, all from well beyond NBA Three-Point range in the first quarter, propelling the Blazers to a 23-10 first quarter lead.

The Blazers pushed the lead to 40-20 early on in the second half, only to have the Mustangs unleash a furious 31-6 run to cut the Blazer advantage to 51-46 with six minutes to play in the game. The Blazers hit their free-throws down the stretch to hold off the tenacious representatives of Region 10 by a final score of 61-53.

Tandy scored 28 on the night, while Brossart's J.D. Schumacher recorded a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. On the night the Mustangs took six charges, including two each by Tyler MacDonald and Ethan Eilerman.

The Blazers improve to 18-3 and will play Newport in the "Midnight Special" on Friday night

The Mustangs return home, the victim of a tough draw, leaving their footprint on this tournament with the respect and admiration of both fan bases who gave our guys a standing ovation as the starters checked out of the game in the final minute.
