The Bolts ended Martin Jones' 8 game winning streak and eventually cruised in Amalie Arena.

 

Evander Kane scored 2 goals and San Jose had 17 shots on goal to Tampa Bays 6 before the defense decided to play. His first was a power play goal to make the score 2-1 Lightning. Kane's second goal came off a lazy recovery by the Bolts on a line change. Evander split the defenders, fired a shot, which Andei Vasilevsky blocked. However, with nobody but Kane there to get the rebound, he scooted the puck past a now out of position Vassy and tied the score 2-2.

 

From that point until 37 seconds left in the game, Vassy held the Sharks in check, while the offense kept pace with the shots being hurled at their goal and scored the next 4 goals.

 

Steven Stamkos had a 2 goals and an assists to lead the Lightning. Joseph, Killorn, Hedman, and Gourde also scored.
