ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A missing search and rescue dog was found shot to death in the woods near where he went missing.

He went missing about a day or so ago and someone nearby heard gun shots around the same time he went missing.

The Lex18 news photographer who was working on this story found him shot to death in the woods close to where he went missing.

I work with one of the local firefighters, he was telling me that the state police are investigating it and they have an idea of who it might be.

The best thing for this person is to be took out back and beat to death.
