Quarterbacks

Beau Buchanan, Bowling Green (9-3, lost in the Second Round)

Second Round: An uneven season plagued by ill timed penalties and questionable hands from Purples receivers came to a close at Owensboro. Buchanan closed out his great career with a couple of touchdown passes in defeat.

Gavin Spurrier, South Warren (12-0, advanced to the Region Final)

Season to date: 139 of 198 for 1,977 yards and 33 TDs with 3 ints.

Braxton Ratliff, Ashland (11-1, advanced to the Region Final)

Chase Estep, Corbin (11-1, advanced to the Region Final)

Cameron Jones, Frederick Douglass (11-1, lost in the Second Round)

Second Round: After conquering Scott County in the regular season, the Broncos were unable to get it done when it mattered most. They found themselves within striking distance of a winning score near the end of the game, but couldn't convert a crucial fourth down to extend the drive. Jones threw for 180 yards and a touchdown to give him 10,242 yards and 107 touchdown passes for his career. Both rank in the top ten in state history.

Season to date: 145 of 199 for 2,714 yards and 31 TDs with 5 ints.

Will Warren, Owensboro (10-2, advanced to the Region Final)

Second Round: Warren had, arguably, the greatest game of his career versus Bowling Green. He's thrown for more yards and touchdowns before, but considering the opponent and all that was at stake, his 295 yards and four touchdown passes against the Purples are probably the highlight of his career to date.

Season to date: 204 of 335 for 3,090 yards and 37 TDs with 11 ints.

Second Round: CovCath jumped all over Montgomery County and got a running clock rolling in the second quarter, shortening McGinness’ night. He finished with a season low six carries for 48 yards and two touchdowns, plus two catches for 36 yards and a touchdown. His legs should be relatively fresh for the upcoming regional final versus Highlands after logging just fifteen carries the past two weeks combined.

Dalton Cook, Lynn Camp (10-2, lost in the Second Round)
