swamprat
In a rematch of last year's national final, the top ranked Irish managed to lead 2-1 over 3rd ranked UMD going into the 3rd period, even though the puck spent an inordinate amount of time in Notre Dame zone the entire game. In the 3rd, the inability of the Irish to clear the puck came back to bite them, especially when they were on the power play, where they gave up a short handed goal. Then came the Bulldogs' game winner on a break away when ND gave up the puck for the umpteenth time in the neutral zone. Notre Dame lost their first game of the season and are now 3-1-1. UMD is 5-1-1 on the year. The 2 teams meet again tonight in South Bend.
