Halftime was 14-6 south leading after a slow sloppy start to the game.

OC scores first then south put up 14 first half points. After the break South opened up scoring 28 3rd quarter points and getting the clock running.

 

Williams for Owensboro Catholic played real hard running the ball in the first half with some good runs.

 

However Jacob Lacey continued his big game from last week with several Tackles for loss, sacks and forced fumbles especially in the 3rd quarter.

Got a chance to catch this one despite the annoying rain. Lacey, Bush, and Spurrier were as good as advertised and that defense is one of the best I've seen at the high school level in a long time. Although it definitely wouldn't have changed the outcome, OC's #3 YaYa Gray didnt play in this one and not sure why. He's a difference maker for them being their best DB and 2nd leading WR on a night where Mills and Williams needed some help. Also, when the game was 14-6 OC lost #45 Harrington to an ejection and another DB got banged up early because I saw alot of little used reserves in the secondary for OC. Regardless I hope YaYa Gray and everyone else is healthy going forward. Good luck to SW, wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them winning their last game at Kroger Field this year.
