Padukacat
This starts tonight, and its not at all a state tournament but they call it that. It will be 14 teams and is all western Kentucky primarily the areas of bowling green, Hopkinsville, Henderson, Owensboro, Paducah and in between. Is anyone else on the board involved or have a child involved? Should be a good event, I believe Warren East has won this several years recently and McCracken and Christian county are usually in the mix. I would expect McCracken to do very well this year. Padukacat
Mccracken girls went undefeated on the day and won, they are going to be really good and should contend for several state titles in a few years.

So do the middle schools play a fall season down there, and then high school during the spring?

nees1212
Yes that is correct. Thanks! NKY schools won’t have anything to do with middle school teams, even if the only thing they have to do is just form the team and let the league handle everything else. They are pretty serious about softball down here which is probably why they have had so much success with teams in western Ky. They do it so the high school coaches can coach the middle school girls. Every kid takes private lessons weekly it seems and most play year around. We have a good crop of girls at McCracken from 7th to freshmen and they are keyed in on those girls and should contend for a few state titles. I bet there are 12-15 girls in those classes that could play at the next level if they stick with it, maybe more.
